This week’s talks is by Vartan Bedrosian.
Vartan Bedrosian is an Armenian actor, scriptwriter, and parodist. Bedrosian is widely considered as one of the greatest contemporary Armenian actors, touching upon various issues such as the Armenian Genocide, Armenian politics and foreign affairs in his performances.
Vartan Bedrosian was born on February 27, 1959 in Yerevan, Armeni. He graduated from the Terlemezian Art College in 1983. In 1985, along with Vahram Sahakian, he established a private theatre studio called Vozniner (Վոզնիներ, “Hedgehogs”). Between 1988 and 1992, during the Karabakh movement, Bedrosian wrote and staged several politically motivated performances. Until 1997, he played in short and feature films. Bedrosian moved to Paris in 1992, where he appeared in several French plays.
In 2000, he embarked on a new journey, performing one-man shows on various politics and social issues.Besides Armenia, he’s performed for the Armenian diaspora communities in the United States, France, Canada, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Russia, etc
The talk is open to everyone and will take place on Monday, 5th of March, 2018, at 8:30 p.m. in Zavarian Student Association’s, Apo Ashjian Center, Bourj Hammoud.
Note that the talk will be in Armenian language.
